Sorting of threads

Is it just me or are there some subforums that have different sorting applied as default to the threads. Most forum sort by last post at the top, but some here (such as the people forum) are sorting differently.

I've also noticed that if I look at a forum but don't do anything and then come back to it later all the threads are marked as read.

Together these are making it difficult for me to track what threads I have replied in and what threads I haven't looked at yet. Is it a global setting or something I need to change within my own user preferences? :confused:

Scottie and Neil have just pointed this out to me, and the problem is that some forums for some reason were configured to sort ascending alphabetically by post title. I'm currently checking them all to make sure that they sort by last post time and descending.
