Hi All :)
Back in the day, well say a year ago, I'd just desaturate an image and tweak with the contrasts to end up with rather flat boring B&W conversions.
That was until I found the channel mixer/ Dodge & Burn method :)

C & C most welcome
Thanks for looking :)

Thanks Erik & Dave, the goose shot just came about by chance, I had a bunch of bird shots I took when I had the 100-400 L IS , being tack sharp but nothing special I just mucked about with this one and Voila !!! :)

Thanks Keith and Dimitri :)
Keith theres not much to tell buddy, thats why I'm able to do it
Other than just desaturate the image select Channel mixer, tick the monochrome box and fiddle with the sliders  Always try and maintain a joint value of each slider at around the +100 mark give or take a wee bit of course. :)
I'm sure someone will have a more technical description but I ain't no Photoshop expert so you get my idiots guide

Hi Scottie
How's that R2400 looking now? :)
I'll comment on the images later as my work's firewall does not allow access to photobucket - I can access very few of the other image storage sites :(
So I'll hopefully comment when I see them at home!
