Having some difficulty selecting a category on the forum for these! I guess "Abstract" is the best fit...

Just a couple of my favourite fireworks shots from November 5th last year:

If you can bear another 67 of these 8) the whole set is here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/stuartrobertson/sets/72157594380428077/)... the slideshow option is probably best.

Thanks Dan, for settings, I set the camera to bulb mode, ISO 100 at apertures between f/8 and f/11, I varied the apertures "just in case", but in the end they were all ok for exposure, and well within adjustment when converting raw files.

Tripod mounted, focused once and set the lens to manual focus. Using the cable release, I just opened the shutter until I guessed I had a few decent bursts, and then closed it again. Exposures ranged from 2 to 5 seconds. Repeat this for the whole show, and I ended up with more than 200 shots...

See what Dimitri means, but no 3 is my favourite. So precise.
